Trip 3: 3-Day Gorilla Trekking & Volcanic Mist (Volcanoes National Park)

The minimum age for gorilla trekking in Rwanda is 15 years old. This is strictly enforced by the park authorities.

The duration varies daily depending on where the gorillas spent the previous night. It can take anywhere from 1 hour to 6 hours; your guide will help you choose a trek level (easy, medium, or hard) based on your fitness.

We highly recommend it. For a small fee ($10–$20), local porters assist you with your bag and offer a hand over difficult terrain, while also providing vital income to the local community.
